A neighbor of mine on Sussex Street had an experience similar to yours several years ago. She and her husband went on vacation for two weeks. When they returned home they learned from neighbors that a moving truck had backed up to their house, doors were broken open, and everything of value was taken. So, yes, it pays to know your neighbors.
